The hours in a day seem to be less sometimes as all we do is workday in a day out. You can either increase productivity by investing more hours or by doing smart work. We prefer the latter, to be honest! Doing smart work isn’t rocket science, but you do need more presence of mind and an active body to achieve more in less time. So trust these simple morning habits to increase your productivity by boosting your mental and physical health.
1. After You Wake Up, Hydrate
Drinking water after a long stretch of time enables your muscles and organs to work. Not only Ayurveda backs this technique but the Japanese culture too as drinking lukewarm water on an empty stomach. It cleans and energises your body.
2. Meditate & Exercise
Mere 10 minutes, that’s all it takes for a mental workout that helps you focus on one thing at a time, reduces stress and anxiety and the most important thing is that it makes you feel better from inside. It also improves alertness and memory. You can easily achieve twice as much by keeping your mind and body fit.
3. Leave Your Phone & Journalise
Your brain gets no time to prep when you have a habit of checking emails the first thing in the morning subsequently which may also lead to you feeling zoned out all day. Instead, try writing about 3 things you’re grateful for early in the morning will lift up your mood for the entire day and will encourage you to work.
4. Do One Thing At A Time
Confusing your mind with multiple things at a time might not seem so problematic but that’s actually what’s making your day hectic and also makes you feel unsatisfied. Instead, just do one thing at a time as completeness you feel after finishing a project sends positive signals to your brain. Make a to-do list a night before or in the morning and keep checking the tasks out one by one.
5. Finish The Hardest Task First
“Eat the live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day,” said the American writer Mark Twain. The simple quote had sound advice. Prioritise the most difficult and ugliest tasks and complete them first and get them out of the way as soon as you start working for the day so your day becomes even more relaxing.
