A character from Money Heist to get a spin off. Find out who

The character is getting his own spin-off that will arrive on Netflix in 2023.

Money Heist may be coming to an end, but one of its most beloved characters, Berlin, is ready to continue the tale. The Spanish actor Pedro Alonso’s role is receiving his own spin-off, which will premiere on Netflix in 2023.

During the worldwide fan event for La Casa De Papel or Money Heist on Tuesday, the show’s creators unveiled the new show, Berlin, ahead of the finale’s premiere. They have yet to share any other information. Park Hae-soo of Squid Game will portray Berlin in the Korean adaptation of Money Heist, according to Netflix.

In Money Heist, the character is known as Andrés de Fonollosa, although he goes by the codename Berlin. Sergio aka The Professor, played by actor Alvaro Morte, is his older brother. The theft at the Royal Mint of Spain had Berlin as the second-in-command. He is a psychopath, despite his charisma, and has been seen at odds with Tokyo and Nairobi on several occasions. But, with his leadership traits and desire to keep the gang together, he gradually wins over the audience.

Berlin is slowly shown to be terminally sick, and at the conclusion of the first theft, he puts himself in harm’s way to shield his fellow gang members from the authorities. Given Berlin’s fame, the filmmakers reintroduced him in flashbacks as the mastermind of the Bank of Spain’s second and ongoing theft.
Berlin’s love storey and marriage to Tatiana, as well as the recent debut of his son Rafael in the programme, sparked the audience’s attention even more, prompting Netflix to greenlight a spin-off based on the character.

For the time being, Berlin will appear in Money Heist season 5 part 2, which will conclude the global smash crime drama’s run on the streaming site.

Money Heist Season 5: Part 2 will release on December 3.
