Amazon is developing a system to let Alexa, the company’s voice assistant mimic any voice after hearing it for less than a minute of audio. Yes, you heard it right!! So, if you are missing your ex or anyone else for that matter, Alexa has got you covered. If you are away from your home and you miss the annoying yet sweet instructions from your mother all the time, just ask Alexa to do the job. It will make you feel better if not make you feel like you are at home.
Amazon wants to give its customers the chance to make Alexa sound just like their closed ones. The goal is to “make the memories last” said Rohit Prasad, senior vice president of Amazon. Due to the pandemic, many have lost the ones they loved, so it’s Alexa’s little effort to fill that void. ” The aim for Alexa is to adapt to user environments and learn new concepts with little external inputs” added Rohit Prasad.
Amazon shared this vision at a conference in Las Vegas. In a video segment, it portrayed a child who asked, “Alexa can grandma finish reading me the Wizard of Ox?” Well a moment later, Alexa affirmed the command and changed her voice to that of the child’s late grandmother. Yes, that’s true, now speaking to your friends and relatives who are dead is not an impossible task and we shall let you decide if this sounds comforting or creepy.
Although Prasad did not mention a timeline for the launch of this feature, he did mention that the public will soon get an update regarding this.
