Amitabh Bachchan Starrer Kaala Patthar Completes 42 Years Today, The Actor Shares An Emotional Note On Instagram

Kaala Patthar  is a 1979 Indian Hindi language action drama film produced and directed by Yash Chopra, with a screenplay written by Salim Javed. The film was based on the Chasnala mining disaster and is the fourth collaboration between Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, and director Yash Chopra which succeeded the films Deewaar (1975), Kabhie Kabhie (1976), and Trishul (1978).

Despite the film only doing average business at the box office, the film was critically acclaimed and received several Filmfare Award nominations. It attained cult statue and is considered a classic in Hindi cinema. Amitabh Bachchan was much appreciated for his portrayal of an ex-Navy Captain now working in mines, to forget his past. However, Shatrughan Sinha walked away with all the applause.

Today the film completed 42 years. Amitabh Bachchan took to Instagram to share about the same, while writing an emotional note. He wrote how he had personal experiences of working in the Coal Dept. Of Calcutta Company as it was his first job, the one he had before he joined the glamour industry.

On a professional font, currently, the veteran actor is busy shooting the much-loved show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. Since 2000 he is a part of KBC. Amitabh Bachchan is very excited about the show. Apart from KBC, it is Ayan Mukerji’s much-awaited film Brahmastra which is keeping Amitabh Bachchan busy. Sharing a photo of Brahmastra’s storybook, he wrote, “KBC may take the day .. but this .. takes the after-hours .. and it does become thought provoking and pensive and energy draining”. Besides Brahmastra, Big B has Chehre starring Emraan Hashmi, Rhea Chakraborthy, and others, up for release soon. He also has Vikas Bahl’s “Goodbye” in his kitty.
