Chris Evans hasn’t seen on the big screen in a number of years, with his cameos last year being his only recent outings. The actor, on the other hand, has a number of projects in the works. While others are preparing for release, he is working on his own projects. His most recent project, which he may begin shortly, is a new film on renowned actor Gene Kelly. The Avengers actor is reportedly in discussions to feature in the film. Chris Evans might be filling Gene Kelly’s dance shoes in the near future.
PEOPLE can reveal that Evans, 40, is in discussions to play the legendary performer in an unnamed film. According to Deadline, the film follows the narrative of a 12-year-old youngster who works on the MGM Lot and builds an imagined connection with the Singin’ In The Rain actor while working on his new project, based on an original idea from the Captain America star.
Evans will produce the project alongside John Logan, a three-time Academy Award nominee who will also write the screenplay.
According to the newspaper, T-Street Productions will be produced by Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman, who previously collaborated with Evans on the 2019 mystery picture Knives Out. Mark Kassen will also be one of the producers.
