A proud moment for India once again from Commonwealth Games as India beats Singapore to win the gold medal in the men’s team Table Tennis. In a 3-1 victory over Singapore on Tuesday at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the Indian men’s table tennis team successfully defended their title. Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Harmeet Desai’s victory in the doubles match gave India the advantage, and Clarence Chew’s victory over Sharath Kamal, an accomplished player, brought the score to 1-1. Sathiyan and Harmeet then triumphed in their singles match to bring home the gold for India. India now has five gold medals from the current Olympics.
The match’s star player, Sathiyan, guided Harmeet to give India the perfect start in doubles and then displayed outstanding combative table tennis to win the pressure match and give India a 2-1 lead after Sharath Kamal, a seasoned veteran, was defeated. To win the yellow medal for India, Harmeet defeated Sharath Kamal’s victor, Chew, in a straight-game victory.
