‘Dog Gone’ A Movie Based On A True Story: Release Date, Cast And Plot

‘Dog Gone,’ the upcoming movie on Netflix, directed by Stephen Herek is the story of a father and son who had to hike on the Appalachian trail to find out their lost dog Gonker. The movie is based on the 2016 book ‘Dog Gone’ by Pauls Toutonghi.

Release Date

‘Dog Gone’ is getting released on Netflix on 13 January 2023. Netflix has already released a trailer for the feature film.

Plot

The movie is based on a  true story about a lost dog discovered by a father and his son. The father and son repair their fractured relationship, during a forced hike on the Appalachian trail to find out about their lost dog ‘Gonker’.  Gonker had to be given monthly shots as he had Addison’s disease. This meant that the family had only 23 days left to find the pet, or else he might slip into a coma.

“Everyone needs one soul who loves you because you are you. That’s who Goenker was for me.” This was what Fielding Marshall had to tell about his pet dog. The role of Fielding Marshall is played by Johny Berchtold and that of his dad is done by Rob Lowe.

The Marshall family will be portrayed by Rob Lowe, Johnny Berchtold, and Kimberly Williams Paisley. Nick Peine, Susan Gallagher, Soji Arai, Annabella Didion, Al Mitchell, Michael H. Cole, LaKeta Booker, and Amber Erwin are all playing their parts.

According to Lowe, he is super proud of the film and the film is an emotional journey that will give you all the feels.
