Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed that the black and yellow have plans to sign the 16-year-old. Dortmund have a knack for finding the best talent across Europe and they have proved it yet again. Filippo Mane is from Sampdoria’s academy.
The central defender has joined Dortmund from the Italian side U.C. Sampdoria. Filippo Calixte Mane will initially play for the U-19s team under Mike Tullberg.
Mane has been a regular starter for the Sampdoria’s U-19s team this season. He is a right-footed player and is 1.88 meters tall. He made his debut for the U-17 Italian team in August and has gone on to play 8 times for the Azzurri. The Sampdoria man is considered one of the best young talents in Italy.
It is also believed that that BVB coach Marco Rose will take the Italian center-back to the summer training camp to prepare him for the 2022/23 season.
The Senegalese-Italian Centre-back has played 19 games for the U17 team and one in the Italian Youth cup ‘Coppa Primavera’. He likes to dribble and provide through balls to attackers as well.
