Elon Musk doesn’t seem to be anticipating some healthy competition. This was illustrated when he replaced Twitter’s free developer API access with a paid subscription. After seizing control of Twitter, he reportedly deleted Koo’s account from the social media platform in India. Mastodon has also been taken from the microblogging platform, in addition to other things.
Musk is reportedly furious after hearing claims that Meta planned to create a Twitter rival. Elon Musk responded to claims that Meta planned to establish a rival to twitter by branding Mark Zuckerberg a copycat.

A new standalone app for sharing text-based content is among Meta’s plans for launching Twitter’s competition. The source said that ActivityPub, a decentralised social media protocol used by other federated services like Mastodon, would be the foundation around which the app will be constructed. The software appears to have the codename P92.
