EPL Boxing Day: Manchester City demolishes Leicester City; Chelsea register their first win in 3 games

The boxing day lived up to its expectations as goals galore. Liverpool Vs Leeds, Wolves Vs Watford, and Burnley Vs Everton were postponed due to the Covid situation in the UK. A total of 28 goals were scored in the 6 games, on Sunday. Manchester United will play Newcastle United on Monday at St.James Park.

Manchester City won 6-3 against Leicester City to take a 6 points lead at the top of the table. Kevin De Bruyne scored within 5 mins to make it 1-0 then Mahrez converted from the spot to double City’s lead. Ikay Gundogan and Sterling soon made it 4-0. LCFC was 4 down 25 minutes into the game. Leicester came back to life in the second half to score 3 in 1o minutes courtesy of Kelechi Iheanacho and Maddison but Laporte and Sterling added two more to bury Leicester fans hopes. It became the highest-scoring Premier League game.

Arsenal gunned down the Canaries beating them 5-0 on their own turf. Bukayo Saka continued his fine form scoring a brace. Lacazette, Tierney and Smith Rowe also scored to make it 5-0. Martin Odegaard registered two assists to his name.

Tottenham are blazing under Conte and are yet to lose a game under him in the EPL. Spurs defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 with their front three firing them into the top 6 with three games in hand.

Southampton shocked the Hammers in a thrilling game to beat them 3-2 at the London Stadium. James Ward Prowse proved to be the difference.

Chelsea are back in the title race with a victory over Aston Villa. Reece James scored an own goal to give the lead to the home side but soon Jorginho converted from the spot to equalize for the visitors. Romelu Lukaku came in to score a header and win a penalty to win it for Chelsea. Full Time score : AVL 1-3 CHE. Chelsea are third with 41 points, same as Liverpool FC.

Brighton defeated the Bees 2-0 to make a appearance in the top half of the table. Neal Maupay and Leandro Trossard scored for the Seagulls.
