Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 2 Recap: The Wedding Dress!

The second episode of Extraordinary Attorney Woo opens with a lavish wedding reception. However, the bride becomes preoccupied, steps on her dress as a result, and then, oh my goodness! Scandal! The moment this woman’s back is exposed to reveal a tattoo of Guanyin Bodhisattva, the entire room freezes in stunned silence. Later, more on that!
Woo Young-Woo and her father eventually see this in the mainstream media. In any case, Young-Woo is preoccupied with work and more interested in whale mating rituals than human ones, while Gwang-Ho wonders if she will ever wed.

The bride’s father, Kim Jeong-Gu, appears at work. He intends to sue the hotel for damages because he is furious about what happened. From the Daehyeon Hotel, he wants one billion won. It’s a sizable sum, especially considering that the hotel is also offering to give a refund for the wedding and a free voucher. Myeong-Seok quickly draws attention to the fact that the hotel isn’t acting unreasonably in this situation.
The difficulty of obtaining $1 billion in damages is reinforced when Myeong-Seok presents this case to the team as a whole. Is Daehyeon Hotel really to blame for this, though?

Kwon Min-Woo and Choi Soo-Yeon are tasked with dressing up, trying on a wedding gown, and discussing dresses and the problems associated with the disastrous wedding.

Young-Woo and Min-Soo set out to speak with the bride, Kim Hwa-Yeong. She talks about the Guanyin Bodhisattva tattoo she has. The hotel staff reportedly tried tightening the wedding dress with pins because it was loose when she first tried it. Her father appears to have handled the guest list entirely, and none of Hwa-Yeong’s friends received an invitation.
Do you love your spouse? Young-Woo jokingly inquires. She removed her wedding ring and noticed that none of the pictures of her husband was in the house. This would seem to suggest that the marriage might not have been the result of love but was planned.

Choi departs with Jun-Ho, who reveals that Young-Woo has been chirping enthusiastically about whales for some time. Su-Yeon develops a stomach ache, which causes a major incident when Young-Woo brings her new pants to wear in the restrooms. However, Su-Yeon cannot attend the wedding reservation due to her stomach issue. Young-Woo steps in for her.
The inexperienced attorney memorises her lines, including the instruction to move quickly because she expects them.
Su-Yeon overhears an employee in the restroom discussing how Ju-Hui, a hotel employee, was let go due to the dress-code incident. She informs Jun-Ho, who then questions Ji-Hye, one of the workers, about it.

Ji-Hye denies that Ju-Hui is still in the country but agrees to give a testimony in court where she describes what happened. It appears that the dresses were mixed up. The dress that Ms Kim wore the morning of the wedding was ripped. Ju-Hui made a mistake, but there was no time to fix it, so the staff hurried to find a replacement. Ju-Hui was let go by the team director after maintaining silence, but they didn’t anticipate things getting out of hand.

Given the dire situation and Hwa-Yeong’s opposition to getting married to Jun-Ho, Young-Woo decides to take action. Do you recall the $1 billion settlement? Young-Woo points out that in addition to the marriage itself, financial and land promises were also at stake.

Young-Woo is tasked with drafting an opinion statement regarding this, which they can present to both families. As a result, the amount of compensation would increase from 1 billion to 3.32 billion, or at least as a “reasonable” stake of 10% of the 33.2 billion offered, which would be the estimated value of the property Hwa-Yeong would have received had the marriage been successful. Jeong-Gu is happy.

In the middle of the hearing, Hwa-Yeong decides to defend her rights and drop the case. She received it when she asked Young-Woo for advice earlier in the episode. As they leave hand in hand as the entire lawsuit is dismissed, it turns out that Hwa-Yeong is actually in love with her friend.

After concluding the case, the team goes to dinner as a group. Jun-Ho then observes Young-Woo leaving while wearing headphones as he walks home. Even her father receives some seaweed sushi from her.
Young-Woo sits with him and discusses marriage with him, telling him that she gave him the bouquet and wants him to get married. Her father tries to hold back tears as she leaves to take a shower.
