Ella Marija Lani Yelien- O’ Connor professionally known as Lorde is a New Zealand singer and songwriter. She is best known for employing unconventional music styles and introspecting songwriting. Her music usually contains elements of subgenres such as dream pop and indie-electro. She uses the piano and xylophone as instruments. Lorde signed with universal music group (UMG) in 2009 and collaborated with the producer Joel Little later in 2011. Her first release happened in 2013 titled The Love club but what gave her rise in her career was “Royals”, her single. Her debut studio album “Pure Heroine” was released in 2013. Lorde’s second studio album “Melodrama” was released in 2017 which received widespread critical acclaim and also debuted atop of the US Billboard 200.
She also won many awards like to Grammy Awards, two Brit awards but behind all this stardom is the story of a teenage girl who managed to survive the Teenage stardom. After Lorde’s second album, she went back home, Auckland and after that she was hardly seen in public. Her fans went crazy during social media on Lorde’s absence. To this, Lorde said that she was so involved in social media that she wanted to get out of that and also spend time with nature and her dog. That’s why Lorde moved away from social media for a while, even put her phone screen to the grayscale. But now she is back and her third album named “Solar Power” is all set to release. People have been asking her where she has been to, to which she replied that she took a break from hustle bustle of life but now she is back and ready to perform this duty of hers.
