According to the reports Ricky Ponting had been searching for a decent property since long time in the same area until he found the mansion of Mr. Jeffrey Hunter who runs a company named Hunter Products and supplies toys, sporting and leisure equipments to some of the top sports retailers in the country. The 1920s Edwardian on St Ninians Road is owned by Jeffrey Hunter, whose company Hunter Products supplies toys, sporting and leisure equipment to many of Australia’s largest retailers. The mansion includes protection by large wrought iron gates and a 7- camera security system. Not only this but also has seven bedrooms, billiards room, library, marble fireplace, theatre, a pool, a full size tennis court and a private access laneway to the beach.
Agents JP Dixon had listed the property with an asking price of about $12 million. Hunter purchased it for $2.7 million in 1999.Director Jonathan Dixon did not respond to a request for comment. Ponting could not be reached by the time of publication but managed to buy it later.
