Former Indian Cricketer Saba Karim Talks About Hardik Pandya T20 Captaincy

Former India wicket-keeper and batter Saba Karim has recommended Hardik Pandya to work on his attitude as he believes that being overly emotional as captain might make players nervous during a game.
In an interview with India News, Karim stated that Pandya has to work on his attitude, and also he needs to have confidence in his teammates. At Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, India narrowly defeated Sri Lanka by two runs in the first game of the three-game series.
“I think he needs to focus on his attitude. Everyone likes him as a player because of his attitude. As a captain, if you show a lot of emotions on the field, players will get fearful. I don’t think that’s the right thing for a team to grow. You have to trust your players,” said Saba Karim.
He also added that “I liked two things about Captain Hardik Pandya. He said that he wanted to bat regardless of the toss. It shows that he is aware of the challenges that lie ahead; bilateral matches are set aside, but each game must teach you something, and you must put your squad in a difficult situation”. “The second thing is that debutant Shivam Mavi bowled in the power play. It means that, as a captain, he wants to lead by example,” said Karim.
Karim continued by stating that he believed Pandya handled Shivam Mavi, who had four wickets in his very first T20I for India, very well.
The second match of the three-match T20I series between India and Sri Lanka will take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune.
