Sports to Teleshopping, Raj Kundra’s business empire is on call
Businessman Raj Kundra, associated with IPL team Rajasthan Royals, was arrested by Mumbai Police Crime Branch to create and publish pornographic films through apps. A few years ago, he also did spot-fixing during matches and for that Supreme Court banned Rajasthan Royals for participating in IPL for two years and he was banned permanently for any activities regarding IPL. This 45-year-old businessman has been imprisoned till July 23 under several sections of the Indian Penal Code ( IPC ).
This famous businessman Raj Kundra has gained a lot of name and fame with pashmina Shawls, precious metals, projects of construction and renewable energy, etc. He also formed MMA ( mixed martial arts ) with actor Sanjay Dutt in 2012 and Mary Kom was appointed as a brand ambassador of it.
He is also known for making MatchIPL ( Match India Poker League ).
His company Viaan Industries has made a partnership with the International Federation of Poker to launch the league in 2017. Viaan Industries also includes animation, gaming, and entertainment. The league was broadcasted on several tv channels such as ESPN Star Sports, Neo Prime, Colors, MTV Indian and YouTube. He had also launched a 24×7 home shopping channel named Best Deal TV in 2015 where the actor Akshay Kumar also tied up as well. Kundra has made this channel free to telecast on cable and DTH platforms. This channel also sold a range of appeal and accessories under Shilpa Shetty’s promoted brands.
Later Kundra has also involved in JL Stream Pvt Ltd, a live streaming social media app Jaldi TV. It provides a user to chat with people during playing games. The company has gained quick fame in just a few days. The project faced almost 2lakhs downloads in 3months.
He is now involved with his wife in Shilpa Shetty Foundation and wrote a novel named ‘How Not To Make Money’ in 2013 and he was awarded the Champions of Change Award by former president Pranab Mukherjee in 2019 for involving in the Swach Bharat Mission.
