Rishabh Pant batted at number 3 and finished off in style like just like Dhoni used to. Now the score stands 2-0 and clearly, India won the series. Guptill was dismissed for 31 by Deepak Chahar and the Indian spin duo of Axar Patel (1/26) and Ravichandran Ashwin (1/19) tightened the screws on the Blackcaps thereafter. Harshal Patel debuted in the second series of T20I and took 2-25 and was awarded man of the match. The victory meant India clinched the three-match series before the third T20I in Kolkata. It was the first series win under the new Rohit Sharma-Rahul Dravid captain-coach partnership.
