At Gujarat’s Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese attended the opening day of the India-Australia Test match on Thursday.
Anthony Albanese, the prime minister of Australia, was welcomed by PM Modi at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In a chariot, the two PMs circled the field once. The thousands of spectators who had already taken their places in the largest cricket stadium in the world cheered as the two dignitaries circled the playing field on a golf cart.
Rohit Sharma and Steve Smith, the respective team leaders, received Test caps from Modi and Albanese. A whopping 1.32 lakh people showed up to the stadium to watch the game. Before the game, Modi and Albanese met with the players.
