India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test: Day 3, 1st Session Updates

This is the last International Match India will play before the IPL 2022. This is the 2nd Test match of the 2 match Test series between India and Sri Lanka and today is the 3rd Day of this Test match. The match is played in Bengaluru and the stadium is full with the fans as the fans are allowed with 100% capacity in the stadium. The first match was won by India by an innings and 222 runs.

The first two days of this Test match were completely in favor of the Indian players as the Sri Lankan batsman failed to score any runs. The first day saw the fall of 16 wickets, 10 of the Indian players and 6 of Sri Lankan players. India scored 252 before getting bowled out on Day 1 and Sri Lanka got bowled out on 109 on Day two. India scored 303 in their second innings.

Today the match started with the Sri Lankan batsman walking out with the target of 419 to chase. They had already lost a wicket and it was a big challenge for them. Dimth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis stood up and looked good and Mendis also scored a half century but as soon as he scored his half century he lost his wicket to Ashwin. After Mendis’ wicket, Mathews and de Silva also lost their wicket back to back to Jadeja and Ashwin respectively.

Dimth Karunaratne also scored a half century. At the end of the first session Sri Lanka’s score was 151/4 with Dimuth Karunaratne at 67(110) and de Silva ar 10(36). R Ashwin took two wickets and Jadeja and Bumrah took 1 wicket each. Sri Lanka needs 296 runs to wins while India needs just 6 wickets to win.
