International Yoga Day: Check out yoga poses for controlling hairfall

Yoga has several benefits that help you in safeguarding your mental and physical health but that’s not it. Yoga is a cure for all your skin and hair issues. There are several yoga asanas that can actually reduce your hair fall issues, promote hair growth and improve your health overall. Yoga helps in the stimulation of blood circulation in the head and the scalp, thereby rejuvenating dry hair and making the process of growth faster. It also helps in relieving your stress and calming your anxiety which is necessary to prevent hair loss. So, let’s see what yoga exercises could help you with this issue.

 

  1. Standing Forward Bend: In this asana, your head receives blood circulation and thus, oxygen is provided to your hair cells. It also calms your mind, relives your stress and aids in growth of hair follicies.

How to do:

  • Stand straight, keep your legs close to each other and deeply inhale.
  • Lift your hands and bend forwards till your hands touch the floor. Exhale while doing this.
  • Hold the position for 45 seconds to one minute and get back to your normal position.
  • Repeat the same atleast 5 times a day.

2. Downward facing dog pose: This helps in nourishment of hair roots and also strengthens abdominal muscles.

How to do:

  • Stand on your limbs, exhale and lift your hips. Ensure your body forms an inverted shape of letter ‘V’
  • Press  your hands into the ground and lengthen your neck
  • Let your ears touch your inner arms and turn your navel.
  • hold the position for some time and bend your knees to return to normal position.

3. Rabbit Pose: This pose is beneficial for your head and scalp, it helps in improving blood circulation throughout the body.

How to do:

  • Sit in vajrasana by putting your hands forward
  • Place the top of your head on the floor and exhale slowly
  • Hold this position till few breaths.
  • Inhale and slowly get back to your normal position.

4. Headstand or Shirshasana: It helps you greatly in relieving stress and it increases your blood flow to the head and scalp thereby promoting hair growth.

How to do:

  • Squat down on your toes and rest your knees on ground.
  • Use your arms to build the foundation of your strength
  • Put your heads in your hands and raise your body, stretch your legs upwards
  • Take the support of any wall during initial stages
  • Hold the position for few seconds and gently release.
