IPL Auction 2022: Maximum amount spent by each team on a single player

IPL Auction is scheduled on 12th and 13th February.

IPL is like a festival fir Indians during summer. It is likely to start from the end of March. This year the auctions will be different as this year mega auctions wil take place where each team can retain only 4 players and rest has to buy in the auction.

IPL Auctions is aired live on Star Sports channels. Each team will pick their new players and the tournament will look completely different as we will see players like David Warner,Shreyas Iyer,Rashid Khan and many more in different teams. It will be weird and at the same time it will be exciting to watch these players play with different teams.

The IPL has added two new teams this year and instead of a 60 match tournament this year IPL will be a 74 match tournaments. See below which team spent the maximum on which player in the previous auctions:

  1. Mumbai Indians- Rohit Sharma (9.20 Crores)
  2. Chennai Super Kings- Krishnappa Gowtham(9.25 Crores)
  3. Sunrisers Hyderabad- Manish Pandey (11 Crores)
  4. Rajasthan Royals- Chris Morris(16.25 Crores)
  5. Royal Challengers Bangalore- Kyle Jamieson(15 Crores)
  6. Kolkata Knight Riders- Pat Cummins( 15.50 Crores)
  7. Delhi Capitals- Yuvraj Singh(16 Crores)
  8. Punjab Kings- Jhye Richardson (14 Crore)

Ironically the only two teams who have spent under Rs 10Crore on a single player have the most number of trophies- Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

Will they spend on a player more than 20 crore in this year’s auction?
