IPL Media Rights: E-Auctions Date, Schedule, Companies entering the Auction, Everything you need to know

The time for the auction of IPL Media Rights for 2023-2027 has come.

IPL is the biggest cricket league in the world. It is bigger than any of the leagues played in the world. Players from all over the world come and play in the IPL. They love to play it here as the fans here are innumerable and also being the biggest league the income is also the most here. Many players earn more in IPL than while playing for their international team.

Since 2008 till 2016 IPL was always telecasted on Sony channel but that came to an end after Star won the auction in 2017 for the telecasting rights of the IPL till 2022. Now the e-auction for the next five years of telecasting rights of the IPL will be held tomorrow on 12th June at 11am. By tomorrow afternoon we will get the news of where the 2023 IPL will be telecasted.

The companies that entered the auction were Sony, Star, Viacom 18, Zee, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Dream Sports, Times Internet, and Google. But Amazon and Google have pulled out of the auction.

Many people want Sony to win the auction as they want back the amazing theme songs that were released when Sony had the rights. Also many people do not want Netflix to win the digital rights as the subscription for Netflix is very costly as compared to other apps.
