IPL Media Rights: TV and Digital Rights are sold for a whopping 44075 Crores, Check Out all Details

IPL Media Rights for the years 2023-2027 are underway and we are expecting the results by tonight.

IPL is the biggest cricket league in the world. It is bigger than any of the leagues played in the world. Players from all over the world come and play in the IPL. They love to play it here as the fans here are innumerable and also being the biggest league the income is also the most here. Many players earn more in IPL than while playing for their international team.

Since 2008 till 2016 IPL was always telecasted on Sony channel but that came to an end after Star won the auction in 2017 for the telecasting rights of the IPL till 2022. Now the e-auction for the next five years of telecasting rights of the IPL was held tomorrow on 12th June at 11am and is still going on. By tomorrow afternoon we will get the news of where the 2023 IPL will be telecasted.

The  update from the e-auction is that the TV and Digital rights have gone to two different and seperate broadcasters. The Package A(TV Rights) has gone for 57.5 Crores per match and the Package B (Digital Rights) have gone for 50 Crores per match. The total has been amounted to 107.5 per match. This means the IPL TV and Digital rights amount  to 44075 Crores.

The rumors say that the Digital Rights have won by Viacom 18 and the TV Rights have been won back by Sony Pictures Network. Since 2008-2016 Sony had IPL TV Rights and after that Star took that away from them and now the TV Rights have returned to Sony.
