The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled its list of Class of 2022 guests on Tuesday, and Kajol is the only star from the Hindi cinema industry invited to join this year. The Oscars committee has now included Kajol as the new Bollywood actor to be invited to join; other members include AR Rahman, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan. One of the 397 new members appointed to the Oscars committee this year is Kajol. She can cast her ballot for the 95th Academy Awards if she accepts the offer.
On Wednesday, Ajay Devgn congratulated his wife Kajol on receiving an invitation to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Ajay thanked Kajol and uploaded a photo of himself online, ” Congratulations Kajol for being invited on Oscars panel. Feeling ecstatic and incredibly proud. Also congrats to all the other invitees. ”
The committee has invitations from five more members of the Indian film industry in addition to Kajol. The first actor from the Tamil-speaking world to be invited to the committee was Suriya, whose most recent movies, Jai Bhim and Soorarai Pottru, both received widespread praise from critics around the world. The writers’ chapter has issued an invitation to Reema Kagti, a screenwriter and director who worked with Zoya Akhtar on the scripts for films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Talaash, and Gully Boy. The directors Sushmit Ghosh, Rintu Thomas, and Pan Nalin are among the new invitees.
