Famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio has announced to invest in Wildtype Foods which is an American biotechnology company that produces cultured seafood from fish cells.

Leonard DiCaprio has opted to invest in the Wildtype Foods company. Wildtype Foods is an American biotechnology company, it produces cultured seafood from fish cells. It was founded in 2016 by Aryé Elfenbein and Justin Kolbeck. The primary production facility of Wildtype Foods is located on a 7,700-square-foot former microbrewery space in the Dogpatch neighbourhood of San Francisco, CA. Wildtype Foods focuses on producing cultivated Pacific salmon that will be cheaper than conventionally harvested fish.

Leonard DiCaprio said that he is pleased to become an investor in Wildtype Foods. He announced this news on Twitter saying. He said that the wild fish populations are threatened more than ever before and the company is trying to decrease the threat to the fish population by conventionally harvesting fish. He said, “I’m pleased to be an investor in @wildtypefoods, the clear leader in cultivated seafood, which will give us the chance to protect our oceans while creating the cleanest seafood on the planet.” Check out his tweet below.
