Lionel Messi is willing to play for Argentina at the FIFA World Cup in 2026

Legendary footballer Lionel Messi of Argentina has stated that he is open to playing in the FIFA World Cup 2026 and that he plans to remain to play the game.

Messi helped Argentina win the World Cup in Qatar last year, realizing his big ambition of winning the tournament. With seven goals to his credit, the 35-year-old ended the competition with the Golden Ball as the best player.

Messi acknowledged that due to his age, playing in the 2026 World Cup would be challenging. He acknowledged, though, that he enjoys playing football and will continue to do so.

The 35-year-old claimed that his ability to compete in the 2026 edition will depend on the state of his career at the time.
