List Of 5 Expensive Bored Ape NFTs SOLD in 2023

One of the hot topics’ of 2022 are VDA (Virtual Digital Assets). Out of all the VDAs, NFTs have been the news of 2022. Endorsed by celebrities such as Eminem and Justin Bieber, people are considering NFTs as the next digital gold.

One of such NFT collections are Bored Ape. Bored Ape NFT collection is a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) featuring artwork of apes in various poses and situations. About 10,000 possible NFTs are generated by giving different attributes to the “Bored Ape”.

The value of the Bored Ape NFT collection could fluctuate significantly over time and may become valuable if they are able to retain enough interest over a long period of time. It is also possible that they may lose value or disappear completely. The value of these NFTs may be influenced by factors such as the perceived rarity or uniqueness of the digital art, the demand for similar NFTs, and the overall market conditions for NFTs.


1. Bored Ape Yacht Club #8817: $3,408,000 

An NFT from the Bored Ape collection, called Bored Ape #8817 and featuring a member of the Bored Ape Yacht Club with gold fur, recently sold for a high price of $3.41 million or 819 ETH through Sotheby’s Metaverse, a marketplace for high-end NFTs. Only a small percentage of Bored Apes have gold fur, even though the overall collection includes over 10,000 cartoon apes.

2. Bored Ape Yacht Club #3749: $2,907,016

On September 6, 2021, a Bored Ape NFT known as the “Captain” and identified as #3749, was sold for a high price of $2.91M. This NFT features a cartoon ape with gold fur and six traits, including a sea captain’s hat, red laser eyes, and a small grin on a yellow background. It is printed on a black T-shirt and is the second most expensive Bored Ape NFT to have been sold.

3. Bored Ape Yacht Club #232: $2,811,791

On January 30, 2022, a Bored Ape NFT  #232 was sold for a high price of 1080 ETH or $2.81 million based on the value of ETH at the time of the sale. This sale was the most expensive in terms of ETH for the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection and was the only time a Bored Ape NFT has been sold for more than 1000 ETH.

4. Bored Ape Yacht Club #8585: $2,702,462

The initial sale price of Crowned Bored Ape #8585 was $14,082 or 5.9 ETH in May 2021. However, in October 2021, the same NFT was sold on the OpenSea marketplace for a significantly higher price of $2.7 million or 697 ETH.It is one of only 77 apes out of a total of 10,000 that features the King’s Crown as a trait. When combined with the rare trait of psychedelic fur, this NFT becomes one of only three in the entire BAYC collection to have this combination of traits. This rarity and uniqueness likely contributed to the high sale price of the NFT.

5. Bored Ape Yacht Club #2087: $2,307,638

Bored Ape #2087 was initially priced at $99,443 (or 42 ETH) in June 2021 but was later sold for a much higher price of $2.31 million (769 ETH) in September 2021. This NFT has a rarity score of 312.34, making it the second-rarest Bored Ape NFT. It features a cartoon ape with rainbow-colored hallucinogenic fur, furious eyes, a purple background, and a weary cigarette in its mouth. Despite being one of the simplest examples of a Bored Ape NFT, it was able to fetch a high price due to its rarity.
