The former CEO of Fusu Truck and Bus Corporation and MD of Daimler Trucks in Asia is roped in as the new CEO of Tata motors. He replaces Guenter Butschek who is will relocate to Germany citing personal issues. The change in roles is to be effective starting from July 1, 2021.
However, the company said that Butsceck will continue to have full authorization in every deal to go through till July 1 and made it clear that the switch is based on the personal request from the current CEO.
“I am delighted to welcome Marc to Tata Motors. Marc is an experienced automotive business leader with deep knowledge and expertise in commercial vehicles over his illustrious career and has extensive operational experience in India,” said, Tata Motors chairman, N Chandrasekaran.
Llistosella is part of the board of Swedish transport company- Einride and a long time employee of Daimler Trucks.
He then served as the CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation for 3 years (2015-2018), and worked on increasing sales and brand management during his tenure.
Back in 2008, he assumed the charge of CEO of Daimler Commercial Vehicle India, where he worked on several projects – notably the greenfield initiative that designed and build trucks. Later in 2012 under his watch the company launch BharatBenz, which was deemed as one of the fastest successful brands of the time.
