A Mega Yacht in the world of sandbox virtual gaming has been sold for $650,000 (about Rs 4.8 crore). Part of the Metaverse, this virtual luxury ship dubbed the “Metaflower Super Mega Yacht” features two helipads, hot tubs, and a DJ booth among other lavish amenities.
With this purchase, Metaflower has become the most expensive non-fungible token (NFT) sold in Yachts Sandbox, a virtual world built on the Ethereum blockchain that allows players to collect digital collectibles, create their own games, and earn money.
The Metaverse is a futuristic, three-dimensional version of the Internet that could potentially sustain a fully functional virtual universe.
At a time when the concept of the metaverse has begun to resonate in the gaming and crypto space, news of purchases was increasingly surfacing on social media.
As per the images, this yacht is three storeyed and white in colour. This NFT was paid for in 149 Ether tokens.

The valuable digital asset was released by Metaverse developer Republic Real. It was designed as part of a luxury NFT series designed specifically for sandboxes. Private islands, speed boats and jet skis are other products in this category.
However, this isn’t the first time a Metaverse asset has garnered a large amount of money in sales.
Earlier in November, a plot of land was sold for $2.43 million in Decentraland, which is also a decentralized, 3-dimensional virtual reality universe built on the Ethereum blockchain. People can buy lands, estates and wearables for their virtual avatars to customize their current experience in the alternate reality. All purchasable items are NFT digital collectibles with value.
Recently, Axie Infinity’s another piece of digital land in the virtual gaming world was bought for $2.3 million (about Rs 17 crore).
Bloomberg Intelligence expects the market opportunity for the metaverse to reach $800 billion (about Rs 59,58,719 crore) by 2024.
After Facebook was rebranded to “Meta” earlier this year, more tech giants like Microsoft, Nvidia Omniverse, and Roblox Metaverse are getting into the groove of the Metaverse.
