Nathon Lyon picks up for to help Australia go 1-0 up in the Ashes 2021

Australian cricket team turned up big on day 4 of the first test match here at the Gabba, Brisbane. Australia bowled out England in the very first session of the day to win the first test of the Ashes 2021 by 9 wickets and go 1-0 up in the series.

England overnight batsmen Joe Root and Dawid Malan led the fightback, but early in the day Nathan Lyon got rid of Dawid Malan and then Joe Root followed him after nicking a beauty from Cameron Green to Alex Carey. Joe Root and Dawid Malan were the top scorers from the English side making 89 and 82 respectively. England saw a horrific collapse yet again as they gave their last 8 wickets for just 74 runs. England would be kicking themselves for giving it away so easily on day 4. Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon reached the 400 wickets landmark making him the third Australian to reach that milestone.

Nathan Lyon was the pick of the bowlers grabbing 4, Pat Cummins and Cameron Green struck twice and Josh Hazelwood & Mitchell Starc pick up a wicket each. England was bowled out for 297 giving Australia an easy target of 20 runs. Alex Carey and Marcus Harris opened for Australia after the Lunch break and won the game. Although Alex Carey lost his wicket right at the end.

England takes on Australia in the second test in 5 days at the Adelaide Oval. Can the English save the series?
