Delhi Crime is the show that chronicles the events that followed the Nirbhaya case, which shook the entire country in 2012. The series follows Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vartika Chaturvedi, who is tasked with tracking down those guilty of the gang rape and the survivor’s subsequent demise. Richie Mehta is the writer and director of the seven-episode first season of Delhi Crime.
It was the first Indian series to win the Outstanding Drama Series category at the 2020 International Emmy Awards. It was released on March 22, 2019. Shefali Shah plays DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, Rasika Dugal plays Neeti Singh in the show, an IPS Trainee, Adil Hussain plays CP Kumar Vijay and Rajesh Tailang plays inspector Bhupendra Singh. The actors received a lot of positive feedback for their performances as the show received good reviews and reception.
Along with Shefali Shah, the cast also includes Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, Yashaswini Dayama, Sidharth Bhardwaj, Gopal Dutt, Denzil Smith, Tillotama Shome, Jatin Goswami, Vyom Yadav, and Ankit Sharma. The second season will give the viewer yet another harsh hit. One significant change will be that Abhishek Singh, a Delhi-based IAS officer, will play a major part in the second season.
The new motion poster and the teaser of the second season of Delhi Crime was released a few weeks ago. The trailer has been released today. The release date of the series is still unknown. Check out the trailer below:
