New Zealand is touring England for a 3 match Test series and the 3rd Test has started. The match is taking place at Leeds. All the players have returned to their home after the IPL and have started playing for their country in international matches again.

Ben Stokes is the new captain of the England’s Test team as he replaced Joe Root. In the 1st Test, Joe Root and Ben Foakes’ amazing partnership on the 4th day helped England win the first match of the series. Joe Root was named the man of the match in that match. The Second Test was also won by England and Johnny Bairstow was named the man of the match for his amazing century.

New Zealand is trying to not be whitewashed in this series. England announced their playing 11 for this match and James Anderson is resting in this match as there is a big match against India coming up in just 9 days and he will be the lead bowler in the series as he is the one bowler who troubles the Indian batsman everytime.

Jamie Overton is playing his debut Test for England and he took his maiden wicket in the first innings of the Test too. The match went neutral on the first day and no team had an edge over the other team. Daryl Mitchell and Tom Bundell helped the Blackcaps  to save the day for them.

The second day was also the same. Until the second session the Blackcaps had the edge over England but at the end Johhny Bairstow and Jamie Overton’s  brilliant partnership helped England and saved the day for them. Johnny Bairstow scored his second century of the series. Jamie Overton is also nearing his century as he is currently at 89 and will enter his nervous nineties on his debut match. The final score at the end of day 2 was264/6 and England is at the trail of 65 runs.
