To all the account holders and services Occupants of Punjab national bank (PNB), Oriental bank of commerce (OBC), and United Bank of India (UBI) are requested to issue a newly updated Cheque book from the bank, in an official Statement said by the authorities in Charge of informing media and the Newspaper, with the effect of 1.10.2021, Cheques from the former cheque book Shall not be accepted. Each account Holder is requested to book or to order a New cheque book via ATM, internet Banking, or from the nearest branches of Punjab National Bank itself.
The new cheque book will have a unique And revised Indian financial system code (IFSC) code which is very important for RTGS & fund transfer in different Accounts of different banks and fund Transfer from various bank accounts.
Moreover, the new cheque book also Contains new Magnetic ink character Recognition (MICR), which helps a Machine to read all details of the cheque Like, cheque number, account holder’s Name, account number, and barcodes. In The cycle machine made further Processes after obtaining every detail Mentioned in a cheque.
“The old cheque book of eOBC and eUNI are going to be discontinued from 1-10-2021. Please replace your old cheque book of e-OBC and e-UNI with the PNB cheque book with updated PNB IFSC and MICR,” PNB posted on Twitter.
