Shamshera has finally made it to OTT, nearly a month after its theatrical release. The Karan Malhotra directorial starring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role has eventually dropped on Amazon Prime Video. The film also features Sanjay Dutt as the main antagonist and Vaani Kapoor as the female lead. On Prime Video, Shamshera is streaming in Hindi and dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu languages.
While making the announcement, the official Instagram page of Amazon Prime Video India shared the poster with a caption stating, “A larger than life cinematic wonder that’ll keep you on your toes throughout. #ShamsheraOnPrime, watch now #RanbirKapoor @_vaanikapoor_ @duttsanjay @ronitboseroy @saurabhshuklafilms @karanmalhotra21 @yrf.”
Shamshera debuted in theatres on July 22, 2022. The film was initially scheduled to hit theatres on December 20, 2019, but the COVID-19 epidemic caused a significant delay. The release was then rescheduled to June 25, 2021; however, due to the second wave of the pandemic, it was delayed once more to March 18, 2022, because the Omicron variety was spreading at the time. It went on sale on July 22, 2022. The movie was released in IMAX theatres, as well as in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
