Singapore Open 2022: PV Sindhu beats China’s Wang Zhi Yi to win her maiden title, tap to know more

What a champion player PV Sindhu is!! Sindhu creates history yet another time by winning the gold medal in the Singapore Open 2022. This is her third cup of the year and maiden victory in the Singapore Open. Sindhu displayed pure dominance throughout the game that lasted for more than one hour and gave no opportunity for the opponent to take the lead.

PV Sindhu defeats China’s Wang Zhi Yi by displaying a terrific performance of 21-9, 11-21, 21-15. The figures show how good she has been in the high-pressure game. She won the first game in mere 12 minutes and although Wang did make a comeback in the second half, Sindhu didn’t succumb to pressure and sealed the maiden title.

Now, Sindhu becomes the third Indian player and second Indian women’s player to win the Singapore title followed by Saina Nehwal (2010) and B. Sai Praneeth (2017). This is also Sindhu’s first super 500 title this year and earlier she clinched Syed Modi International and Swiss open which are super 300 titles.

The victory has given a boost to her confidence and Sindhu now looks to win Commonwealth Games which is scheduled to begin on 28th of July. Sindhu stated that she has a good time to take break and start preparing for the Commonwealth games, looks like there’s no stopping her.
