South Africa on verge of a victory after their pacers demolished India’s batting lineup

South Africans certainly find themselves in the driving seat in the second test match in Johannesburg. South Africa needs 122 runs to win the second test match.

The test match has been a roller coaster ride for both teams. India was bowled out for 202 as South Africa took a crucial 27 runs 1st innings lead.

India got off to a poor start in the second innings losing both the openers early. India was reduced to 44/2. Pujara and Rahane scored at a quick pace and stitched a 111 runs partnership to bring India back in the game. Rahane scored 58 off 78 balls and Pujara also hit a half-century scoring 53 off 86 balls. Shardul Thakur a quick 28 runs smashing 5 fours and a six. Hanuma Vihari held one end as wickets kept falling to take India to 266 in the second innings. Marco Jansen, Lungi Ngidi, and Kagiso Rabada took 3 wickets each and Olivier picked up one.

South Africa needing 240 to win the Test and level the series, started a brisk pace but soon lost Aiden Markram. The opener batter fearlessly score 31 off just 38 balls before Shardul Thakur got the better of him. South Africa lost their second when Ashwin got Keegan Petersen. Ravichandran Ashwin became the second spinner to pick up a wicket at the Wanderers, Johannesburg. Van der Dussen joined Dean Elgar in the middle who has been superb since the start. South Africa are 118/2 at the end of the day.
