Stranger Things Season 4 To Debut In Summer

Return to the Upside Down

Fans of Stranger Things will have to wait a little longer for Season 4 of the famous spooky series to arrive on Netflix, but the streaming service has issued a welcome update on the debut date.

Netflix announced that the series starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp will premiere in Summer 2022 during its Stranger Things Day event on Saturday. Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Cara Buono, and Sadie Sink all feature in the series.

Stranger Things season four has been a long time coming; the third season premiered in July 2019, but due to COVID, which forced the show’s production to halt, it will premiere in 2022, after only being able to resume production in September 2020.

Joyce Byers is seen moving her sons and Eleven out of the Indiana town, Hawkins, to start a new life at the conclusion of Season 3, following the explosion intended at eliminating the Soviet lab to the Upside Down deep beneath the newly established Starcourt Mall. At the closing scene, guards are seen feeding a prisoner to an imprisoned Demogorgon, although “not the American,” since the scene takes place in the extreme Eastern extremity of the USSR.

Netflix also revealed the titles for all nine Season 4 episodes – some refer to series characters and others tease what could be climactic moments: The Hellfire Club, Vecna’s Curse, The Monster and The Superhero, Dear Billy, The Nina Project, The Dive, The Massacre At Hawkins Lab, Papa, The Piggyback.

On Saturday, a new teaser was released, depicting Eleven in California, adapting to her new life and school. In a letter to Mike, she writes that everything is normal (despite the fact that we witness her classmates being cruel to her) and that she can’t wait for spring break. But, of course, our lady can’t have it all; after a fade to black, we see unsettling music playing overviews of a roller rink with Eleven looking terrified, as well as helicopters, explosions, and Joyce recoiling from a terrifying doll.

Stranger Things 4 will air in the summer of 2022, according to Netflix. While it’s not a firm release date, it’s something for fans of Netflix’s flagship supernatural series who have endured months of delays and a seemingly never-ending stream of enigmatic teases.
