Suryakumar becomes the highest run scorer in T20Is with 682 Runs beating Nepal’s batsman Dipendra Singh Airee!!

Star Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav on Sunday (September 25) became the leading run getter in T20Is this year after his 36-ball 69-run innings scripted India’s 6-wicket win over Australia in Hyderabad in the third and final T20I of the three-match home series.
The right-handed batter was on song against the reigning T20 World Cup winners and scored five fours and as many sixes during his entertaining knock for the Men in Blue. He was awarded the Player of the Match award for his outstanding batting display.

With his 69-run innings on Sunday, Suryakumar pipped Nepal’s middle order batter Dipendra Singh Airee to become the leading run getter in T20I matches this year. The Mumbaikar now has 682 runs to his name from 20 matches. He has scored four fifties and one century this year in T20Is and has been India’s best batter by a handsome margin.

In the Asia Cup, he made 68 not out off just 26 balls against Hong Kong but failed to do much in other matches. And then finally, against Australia, he was again back in his element and, after scoring 46 in the series opener, he made 69 in the series decider to script India’s win.
Surya’s form is a big positive for India with the T20 World Cup set to start in three weeks’ time. The Mumbai Indians’ batter made his debut for India against England in March 2021, and within his first 18 months, he has established himself as one of the team’s most dependable batters.
