TATA IPL 2022: Pat Cummins scored Fastest 50 In IPL History, KKR Wins the Match by 5 Wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by 45 wickets.

Mumbai Indians has given a target of 162 runs to the Kolkata Knight Riders. The target was good enough and a defendable but we saw a carnage at the end of the chase by Pat Cummins. The target was chased down with 4 overs remaining which at one time looked like would go on until the last over of the match. The match looked like would be thrilling but was so easily chased that it looked like a piece of cake for Cummins.

Pat Cummins came in after Kolkata lost their 5th and very important wicket of Andre Russell. The score was 101/5 after the loss of his wicket. KKR looked to be in a very difficult position but then entered Pat Cummins with Venkatesh Iyer on the non-striker end. Pat Cummins came in and started hitting the ball which went over the boundary every time.

Pat Cummins scored 56 runs in 15 balls at the strike rate of 373.33. He was just phenomenal tonight as his half century came up in just 14 balls. He has equalled the record of the fastest 50 in IPL History as the previous record was held by KL Rahul who scored a half century in 14 balls against Delhi Capitals in 2018 and today Pat Cummins has equalled that record by scoring his half century in just 14 balls today.

All of his Cummins’ shots were perfect and classy and none of them were edged to the boundary. He played amazingly well and helped Kolkata win today’s match pretty easily. He came in the 14th over and scored his half century by the end of the 16th over. Mumbai Indians has now lost three matches in a row and having 0 points in the points table. Cummins hit 4 Boundaries and 6 sixes.
