Taiwanese electronics company Foxconn has confirmed its commitment to setting up a manufacturing facility in Kongara Kalan near Hyderabad, according to a letter from Foxconn Technology Group chairman Young Liu to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Liu sought the support of the state team in operationalising the Kongara Kalan Park as early as possible. Liu also invited Rao to Taiwan as his personal guest. The announcement clears doubts raised by certain sections of the press that Foxconn was unsure about establishing the facility in Telangana.
Foxconn, which supplies electronic components to Apple and other major tech companies, has announced its intention to invest in a new manufacturing facility in Telangana, India. The company is planning to allocate up to $1 billion towards the construction of this facility, which is expected to create job opportunities and boost the local economy. In addition, the new facility will strengthen Foxconn’s supply chain and provide an alternative source of components for tech companies seeking to reduce their dependence on China. The move is seen as a major boost for India’s efforts to become a leading player in the electronics industry.
