Ashneer Grover, the MD of BharatPe takes a voluntary leave of absence till March-end. Here is everything about it.

Ashneer Grover is the co-founder and the Managing Director of BharatPe and one of the judges in the reality show ‘Shark Tank India’ which is inspired by an American television reality show.

Ashneer landed in trouble, as social media calls for a brand boycott over his alleged abusive call with a bank employee. He was trolled all over social media for speaking abusively to a bank employee.

After the accusation was made Ashneer told that it was all fake. Grover and his wife sent a legal notice to Kotak Mahindra Bank for a false accusation. After this news came to light many such incidents of Grover’s behaviour was uploaded on social media, for which he was trolled.

After all this trouble he had been through, he announced that he would be taking a voluntary leave in absence till March-end. “In his absence, Suhail Sameer the CEO will lead the company.” The company statement said.

“Ashneer Grover, our Co-Founder and MD, has today informed the Board of his decision to take a voluntary leave of absence from BharatPe till March-end. Ashneer has co-built BharatPe from scratch and his decision is consistent with his passionate commitment to the future success of the company,” a statement from BharatPe said. They also said that for now, the billboard has accepted Ashneer’s decision in the best interest of the company. The decision by Ashneer was taken without giving any reason.

Ashneer’s decision is a big move taken by an MD and co-founder of the company, even though the reason behind this was not known his decision was valued by the company.
