The Oscar awards nominations to be announced today!!

The Academy Awards are the most prestigious awards in the Hollywood film fraternity and movies from all over the world race against each other to get into nominations. This year there are some major changes took effect for the coveted best picture category. The nominees for the 94th Annual Academy Awards, which air on March 27 on ABC, will be revealed on Tuesday, Feb. 8. Actors Leslie Jordan and Tracee Ellis Ross will announce nominations in all 23 Academy Award categories in a live presentation starting at 8:18 a.m. ET/5:18 a.m. PT. Of the 276 films eligible, several scored key nominations are now likely contenders in the Oscars race.

Actress Kirsten Dunst is looking for her first Academy Award recognition after a career that began as a child. Last year’s biggest box-office hits, Spider-Man: No Way Home and No Time to Die, didn’t make the cut, which is taken by surprise.

Will Smith’s King Richard performance has landed leading role nods from SAG and the British Academy Film Awards along with a 2022 Golden Globe Awards win. The SAG nominees for the best male lead actor are Benedict Cumberbatch’s “The Power of the Dog, Denzel Washington’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, Andrew Garfield’s Tick, Tick … Boom! and Javier Bardem’s Being the Ricardos. The SAG Award’s best female lead is Lady Gaga’s House of Gucci, Jessica Chastain’s The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and Jennifer Hudson’s Respect. All are said to be nominees for the 94th Academy awards. This is just a simple assumption based on previous year’s releases and this year’s.

We Indians would be joyed to see Jai Bhim would be nominated for Oscars as it grabbed great attention; as the film deals with the real-life story of Judge Chandru. Even though the film skipped the theatrical release, the multiple language release transformed the film into a massive hit, and it turned out to be a top searched Indian movie of 2021. Jai Bhim has been bagging awards across the globe, and the film has now been selected for the International Awards at the 11th Annual Congressional Global Community Oscar Awards Gala 2021, which is to be held on February 19th in the USA. Therefore, Suriya and Jyotika are all set to head to the USA to receive the Global Community Oscar Awards for ‘Jai Bhim’.

The 94th Oscars will be held in Los Angeles on March 27 at the Dolby Theatre and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
