The Toyota Fortuner luxury SUV’s new facelifted version is being launched on 6th January 2021, after the previous version turned to be a bestseller. Along with Fortuner, Toyota is launching a new variant “The Legender” which has already on sale in South East Asian markets.
This facelift will be the first major update in the new Fortuner SUVs. The Legender is said to be more upmarket for an SUV and is expected to garner buyers attention to the Toyota showrooms. Both SUVs are to be priced way higher than the previous version and the prices are expected to be at least 5% higher than Fortuner’s ex-showroom price- 28.6 lakh.
This Toyota Fortuner has major mechanical updates- from the boost power and torque outfits of the 2.8 litre-4 cylinder GD turbo diesel engine to 204 Bhp-500Nm. The automatic gearbox is likely to be offered on the Legender and the new facelifted version of Fortuner.
The facelifted Fortuner is going to get the rear-wheel-drive layout for the lower trims while the higher trims will be launched with four-wheel drive layout. It will be launched in petrol version with a 2.7 litre-4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with 164 Bhp-245 Nm state of tune, 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes are expected to be offered. The new versions of these Toyota SUVs will get a revised front and rear end style with new LED headlights, larger mesh-pattern grille and the front bumper. The rear has a slim LED taillights and the hood of the car won’t be changed and except a few minor features to be added, nothing will be changed.
