Twitter source code was allegedly leaked online

According to a legal complaint, some of Twitter Inc.’s source code has been exposed. Elon Musk, the owner of the social media network, is seeking information. According to the complaint, a user going by the handle “FreeSpeechEnthusiast” uploaded “several snippets” of the source code that runs Twitter’s online services on the Microsoft-owned GitHub website. The code was taken out on Friday at Twitter’s request, according to GitHub.

According to the March 24 lawsuit, Twitter has asked the US District Court for the Northern District of California to require GitHub to provide “Any identifiable information” connected to the user name “FreeSpeechEnthusiast.”

When Reuters asked GitHub for comment on whether it had provided such material, GitHub did not immediately answer. It also made no mention of how long Twitter’s source code had been accessible to the general public.
