Vir Das wear an outfit by student desinger Pradip Bhatt for Emmy Awards

 

Vir Das supports aspiring designer Pradip Bhatt from Uttarakhand.

Vir Das was nominated at Emmy Awards for his Netflix special Vir Das: For India for Best Comedy. For this occasion, Vir Das didn’t wear any fancy designer instead he decided to support struggling designers. He put out a post saying that he’ll buy and wear the design of a struggling or studying designer. He found a student of NIFT Kangra named Pradip Bhatt and wore his design for the Emmys. He posted a photo from the Emmys wearing the suit designed by Pradip wishing him a great future. He also mentioned that this outfit will be auctioned for charity.

On his post Pradip penned a heartfelt comment saying, “Never thought putting a comment would be this hard, writing here with hands almost out of control, mind blown and my words won’t be enough to express anything today. Overwhelmed with goosebumps and overjoyed. @virdas Sir you’re a gem, this nobody feels important today because of you, I’m just going to meet you someday and express myself as a thank you won’t be enough. Forever Grateful”

Vir Das was recently found in a controversy for a monologue he presented in Kennedy Centre, Washington DC. In the monologue titled ‘Two Indias,’ he talked about the 2 faces of India and touched on many topics from Women Safety, Journalism in India to PM Care Funds, Farmers protests and Cricket. For this piece, Vir Das faced backlash as the netizens said that it’s an insult to our nation India.
