
Weki Meki announced the launch of their official light stick, which will go on sale starting on August 8 at 3 p.m. KST, on August 7 to commemorate their five-year anniversary of their debut.

South Korean female group Weki Meki, often known as WEME or WKMK, was founded by Fantagio in 2017. Suyeon, Elly, Yoojung, Doyeon, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy make up the group of eight.
The group’s original members were known as the i-Teen Girls and were trainees in Fantagio i-Teen, a rookie talent development programme run by Fantagio Entertainment.
In labelmates Astro’s predebut online web drama To Be Continued in 2015, members of i-Teen Girls Kim Do-yeon, Choi Yoo-jung, Lua, Lucy, and Elly (as well as previous trainees Chu Ye-jin and Lee Soo-min) made multiple guest appearances.
Produce 101, a Mnet survival show that ran from January 22 to April 1, 2016, with contestants Elly, Choi Yoo-jung, Kim Do-yeon, and Sei. Choi Yoo-jung and Kim Do-yeon made their project girl group I.O.I debuts and were ranked among the top 11 contestants overall. Fantagio announced the name of their new girl group, Weki Meki, on July 6, 2017.
