Recently uninstall Hotstar was trending on Twitter. The web shows the Empire started streaming and brought trouble to the online streaming platform Hotstar. The series is produced by Nikhil Advani and has a star cast including Shabana Azmi, Drashti Dhami, Dino Morea, Kunal Kapoor, Aditya seal, Rahul Dev. Empire is a series based on the Mughal invader Babur and claims that it is based on the adoption of the Novel, the Empire Of Mughal Raiders Front North. The novel is written by Alex Rutherford. Fans started objecting to the series soon after its trailer popped on the internet, accusing the makers of glorifying the Islamic invader Babur. however, Hotstar rejected the grievance complaints against the series, The Empire which led to the trend #UninstallHotstar. Complaints regarding the series were sent to the grievance officer appointed under the information technology (Guidelines for intermediate and digital media ethics code) rules 2021 which requires digital news media and online publishers to adhere to the code of ethics as prescribed by the rules.

Twitter users are hurt and urging everyone to uninstall the app. One user tweeted Babur was an invader who destroyed and looted India, killed Hindus, converted them in the name of their intolerant jihad are they being glorified in 2021 while another user tweeted, “Babar wanted to kill every Hindu and Sikh. He destroyed Ram Mandir and built Babri masjid on it. This type of wrong information is spread by the Empire series.” Fans took up action of uninstalling the app and urging others to install too.
