World’s Longest River Cruise to be launched by India

The world’s longest luxury river cruise, ‘ Ganga Vilas Cruise’ connecting Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam, is all set to be launched by India in January 2023.

The cruise will cover a distance of around 4000 km. Ganga Vilas connecting Varanasi and Dibrugarh will travel through Kolkata and Dhaka.

Route of the cruise

As per the reports, the cruise will pass through many national parks and sanctuaries including Kaziranga National park and Sundarbans Delta.

The first journey of the cruise will start on 10th January 2023 from Varanasi and will reach Dibrugarh on 1st March. The announcement of this trip was made by the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri  Sarbananda Sonowal recently.

Connecting India and Bangladesh 

India and Bangladesh are connected under the India-Bangladesh Protocol route through this river cruise. The cruise will take 50 days to complete the journey. It will cover 27 river systems, 50 tourist sites, and world heritage sites. The Union Minister stated that this river cruise will certainly put both countries on the river cruise map of the world.
