YouTuber Gaurav Taneja arrested after fans flock to Noida metro station to celebrate his birthday

Popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja aka Flying Beast, is a YouTuber, commercial pilot, and nutritionist from India. He is well-known for his YouTube videos about fitness, gaming, and personal vlogs. For the past nine years, he has also worked as a pilot.

He was arrested by the Noida police on Saturday after a swamp of his fans thronged the Sector 51 metro station in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida to celebrate his birthday.

Taneja, through his social media Instagram, told his followers/fans that he would be celebrating his birthday at the Noida metro station among fans. He probably wanted to share his special day with his fans but he did not expect what would happen soon afterwards. Following this, thousands of people reached the Sector 51 metro station to meet him

The rush caused a stampede, although no fatalities were reported. The Noida Sector 49 Police arrived and calmed the crowd.

Passengers travelling by metro had difficulty due to the sudden surge. Metro staff were also affected. There was significant traffic congestion while event passes were distributed beneath the metro station. However, as soon as the police were notified, the roads were freed.

Soon after, Section 144 of the CrPC was implemented, and the social media influencer was arrested for violating Section 144. Taneja was held in police custody for two hours before being detained under the Indian Penal Code Sections 241 (punishment for unlawful restraint) and 188.  According to sources, Taneja might be granted bail as soon as tonight.
